Leesbrook 50pts - Ollerton 10pts: (Mids NE Playoff)
In ideal conditions, Leesbrook earned promotion with a fine display of open rugby. After Ollerton took the lead with a penalty from Kev Cogan after 5 minutes, Leesbrook dominated possession for most of the first half.
Craig Lawrence took three scrums against the head which provided the impetus for tries from forward movements. First Dan Staines drove over, then Owen Lyon.
Leesbrook then opened up and stretched the Ollerton defence with a series of pacey attacks.
John Rogers finished off a fine handling movement and full-back Ed Proudler attacked the blind side before cutting in to score under the posts.
With three Sean Room conversions, Leesbrook led 26-3 at half time.
Winger Olivier Francois left the defence standing to score inthe corner at the start of the second period and added his second try 5 minutes later as Leesbrook upped the pace again.
Flanker, James Smith ripped the ball in a defensive tackle and won the sprint to the line. Ollerton rallied and earned a well deserved consollation try from Simon Hayward, converted by Cogan, before Dan Staines completed the scoring from a driven maul as the visitors tired. Sean Roome added two second half conversions.
Thanks to everyone involved with the club for their support and help. We look forward to seeing everyone down next season.
