In a ground sharing local derby, the stakes were high. A strong start from Leesbrook saw an early try scored from a flowing team move by Olivier Francois. However, this spurred on Long Eaton, who scored a clever reply after a chipped kick was chased and scored in the corner.
With the wind making its mark on the game out wide, the forward of Leesbrook took the game on and steve watt scored from close range. Leesbrook made it 15-5 at half time, with a superb individual effort from John Lees on the right wing.
The second half was frustrating at times, but Leesbrook worked hard with further tries from Ryan Manning and Chris Impey. John Lees completed a successful day with his second try of the game.
