Playing uphill against the gale in the first half, Leesbrook defended valiantly as Spartans camped on their line for long periods. An early pushover try was the home team's only reward and Leesbrook showed their potential on the break.
In the second period, Spartans tired and, with Dan Thrasivoulou in top form at fly half, Leesbrook turned the tables. First, Olivier Francois fielded a clearance kick and outpaced the defence to score in the corner.
Soon afterwards Ryan Manning put the visitors ahead with a penalty. Chris Impey ran strongly on the right wing to pop up the ball for Ed Proudler to score in the corner.
In the last minute James Smith won the chase to touch down from Chris Impey's kick ahead. Ryan Manning added the conversion to complete the scoring.
